Dalhousie District Golf Association

Competition - Player of the Year

Background and Rules

The House of Golf Epping is the proud sponsor of the Dalhousie District Golf Association’s Player of the Year.

The Player of the Year is for all members of Clubs within the Dalhousie District.  It is structured so that every player has a chance of being successful in the competition, as it is based on handicap.

Throughout the year, at each of the DDGA District Tournaments, the top ten players with the best 18 hole nett score are awarded points; and these points accumulate during the year. The winner of the 18 hole nett score will be awarded 10 points, 2nd place will be awarded 9 points, and so on for the top 10 players.  If more than one player has the same score, the points will be totalled and then divided by the number of players.

The points will be multiplied by 1.5 for the following events:

            DDGA Mixed Foursomes

            DDGA Men’s 4BBB Stroke Championship

            DDGA Bowl

            DDGA District Championships

In the DDGA Men’s 4BBB Stroke and DDGA Bowl, all players in the team will receive the full number of points (e.g. if the team comes 3rd they will receive 12 points each).  In 36 hole events (i.e. Woodend and Trentham), only the first 18 holes nett score will count.

Only Dalhousie District Club Members are eligible to be awarded points in the district events.

Our sponsor, The House of Golf in Epping, has generously donated prizes for the top three players with the most accumulated points at the end of the year, as follows:

1st Prize   -  a $300 gift voucher to The House of Golf Epping Store

2nd Prize  -  a $150 gift voucher to The House of Golf Epping Store
